Chinese Patent Machine Translation (CPMT) Service Guide

       CPMT service is integrated with an English search interface and can be used for obtaining the English fulltext (including claims and specification) from a searched result (by previous human translation). Please follow the following steps.
      1) Choose “Patent Search and Machine Translation” from the homepage of China Patent Information Center (CPIC): http://www.cnpat.com.cn.

         2) Conduct a patent search through TABLE menu or ADVANCE menu (See Help)
           “ If you choose TABLE menu, you can input bibliographic data (including English terms in Title or Abstract);

        - Use the Boolean search option to refine the search in the Connect Line box.
        - Click “Search” button to show you search results.
        - Click the title in the hit results to see the corresponding bibliographic data and abstract.
 

       3) Start CPMT service from the search result page

     -Click “Publication Text” to initiate machine translation for the fulltext of this patent, as a system default configuration, the  translation for Claims will be shown first.

      - Click “Description” button to start machine translation for the specification.

    -Clicking “Specification Drawing” button to display the drawings.

      4) about description colors:
       Different colors in the translation result of the description are designed to represent different parts as      defined below:
     -red: technical field
     -blue: background art
     -gray: detailed description
     -purple: embodiment
     -green: description of drawings

    -Click “Translate Again” if the system fails to display the English translation for the Claims.

      Efforts have been made to maintain the original formats in the Chinese patent specifications (such as tables and drawings), but errors do occur occasionally during the format recognizing and transforming process, please submit the result to us for future improvement if you encounter such kind of errors.
